Extreme Clean Up: Mill Creek Stream
April 18, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Thank you for your commitment to Rock Creek!
By now you may well have heard that, following CDC and local public health guidelines, the Conservancy has cancelled all group events until future notice, including next month’s Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup.
While group cleanup events are cancelled, there are still ways to get outside and make a difference! You can host an Individual Cleanup—it’s just what it sounds like: you, a pair of gloves, a trash bag, and whatever patch of the Rock Creek watershed means the most to you. Sign up here to join the #LoveRockCreek community and care for our Rock Creek and its unique, urban wilderness.
We’d love to hear from you and hope you will share with us the ways you are enjoying and stewarding Rock Creek, stay connected to Rock Creek Conservancy, and take good care of yourself out there!
We look forward to connecting face-to-face just as soon as we can, and via virtual channels until then. Please follow us on social media and watch our events webpage for updates if there are any changes based on CDC and public health guidance.

CANCELLED: Join Rock Creek Conservancy, the Alice Ferguson Foundation, National Park Service, Mill Creek Towne Garden Club, and Extreme Cleanup Leader Susan Yu for our Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup! We will be cleaning up trash from the Mill Creek Stream near the intersection of Mill Creek Drive and Warbler Lane on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Trash and pollution are among the biggest threats to this small stream, one of the northern most tributaries of Rock Creek. Our goal is a total cleanup of Rock Creek and its tributaries, including the parks and neighborhoods near the creek where trash originates.

How to Host a Cleanup Video
This video is an overview of hosting a stream clean up event. Although this video is presented by the Alice Ferguson Foundation, we will doing something similar. If you have some empty detergent containers for sharp objects (as seen in video) please save them up for us. Thanks!
We invite you to join us for our 12th Annual Extreme Cleanup to help remove trash and keep this section of Rock Creek clean.
We hope to see you there!
You MUST register for this event; Early registration is required so we can get an accurate count to provide supplies for everyone.
